Treasurer's report 2025
Treasurer's Report
AGM 1st June 2026
Prepared by Mrs Jennifer Booley MIAB
It is my responsibility as Treasurer to present IMC's Accounts for the year ended 31st December 2025 that have been approved by the trustees, and these will be submitted to the Charity Commission for public record.
Looking at the Income first (Fig. 1) we can see that there has been a reduction of just over 8% compared to the previous year, but I do feel it is important to focus on the present and not the past.

What wonderful provision it is for this charity, despite the economic pressures in this country to have received almost £68000 through regular donations, extra gifts, fundraising, Gift Aid, and ‘Give As You Live’ (GAYL). A huge 'thank you' must go out to all those who have been part of making such a difference to this precious work in Colombia, we so thank God for you all.
You can see from this pie chart (Fig. 2) the percentages of each category of Income: -
• Donations - 82%
• Gift Aid - 14%
• Fundraising - 3%
• Give as you live - 1%

We are reviewing the Gift Aid forms with Links to check that we are claiming all we can so plan to be contacting those without forms in the coming months.
Looking at the Expenditure next (Fig. 3) shows that just over 87% of our income gets sent to Colombia by transfer.

We don't have many costs linked to running the charity except postage of £365 and website cost of £60 which are shown as publicity. Other than that our biggest physical expenses as shown are the Admin Fees to Links which is calculated at 10% of our Income and any donation over £1000 is reduced to 5%. Links provide an invaluable service and manage several separate bank accounts for us which they send to me each month so I can calculate the transfer to Colombia.
There are so many rules and regulations linked to the Money Laundering Act that have to be adhered to and sending money to Colombia isn't always very straightforward so it would be very hard to do this without them.
With the money we get back from HMRC for Gift Aid, which was £9588 this year, we more than cover the Admin Fees for Links of £6114 & the publicity expenses of £425 and still leaves us with £3049 of the Gift Aid to boost the Income.
I hope this an encouragement to all those who donate to know that all their money goes to Colombia.
We would appreciate your prayers for the transfers to get to Colombia smoothly as there has been some difficult issues on that front in the last year.
A huge 'thank you' has to go to Lynda, Joanne, Joe & all the team at Links that are always there for us and run the accounts so well.
You can see from this pie chart (Fig. 4) the percentages of each category of Expenditure:
• IMC Transfers - 90%
• Links Admin Fees - 9%
• Publicity - 1%

Fig. 5 outlines the Income & Expenditure account covers all that has been discussed; the bottom figure shows an amount of £2013 this year which is the difference between the Income & Expenditure, this would normally say Profit on a set of accounts but we are a non-profit-making organisation so that's why it is worded differently.

Fig 6. Shows the Balance Sheet for the charity which basically shows that we have £2591 set aside in the Reserve account which is to cover any Links Admin Fees and any months that are lower on donations than normal which quite often happens at the beginning of the year. Also, you will see there is a Gift Aid Accrual which shows of £2440 as it didn't come into the bank until January 2026 but is linked to this current accounts year.
Figure 6:
Balance B/F 3018 IMC Accounts 2591
Inc/Exp 2013 Gift Aid Accrual 2440
Total: 5031 5031
As a bookkeeper it always encouraging to see both sides of the Balance Sheet equalling the same figure of £5031 as that means it all balances thus the name ‘Balance Sheet’ so it is important to show you this too.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me using the IMC e-mail if you require any more detail or explanation.
