Treasurer's Report 2022

TREASURER’S REPORT FOR THE 2021 FINANCIAL YEAR

Presented by internet video link at the 2022 AGM

As usual, I begin my presentation by acknowledging the very important role that the charity Links play in overseeing and managing the IMC accounts on a day to day basis.

As you will see in the expenditure items, Links’ charges are our largest cost. The services that Links provide are essential for IMC to ensure that our financial governance is legal, accountable and transparent.

As an individual item, our payment to Links appears large. I would argue that, for all the services and help that Links provide, it is good value.

Income

Income over the past few years has declined. Considering the challenges that this country and individuals have faced over the past two years, this is not surprising.

2019       £89,759
2020       £84,315
2021       £81,594

I would like to thank supporters for their loyalty in maintaining their standing order donations over this time. Regular giving is crucial to the financial support we are able to give to Colombia.

Expenditure

Expenditure in 2021 was slightly down on the previous year:-

2020 £4,570
2021 £4,138

Links - £3,710

Website hosting - £60

Publicity - £360 (Newsletter costs, stamps, printing)

In my presentation to the AGM, I acknowledged the significant boost that Gift Aid tax relief makes to our annual income – around 12%.

I also tried to find any patterns in monthly giving to see if there were regular peaks and troughs that might assist in our financial planning. I couldn’t find any!
